An antique tribal wall hanging from the Turkish region of Şarköy. This piece was made by women belonging to a nomadic tribe, to celebrate one of the most important events in tribal life: a marriage. The motifs around the edge symbolise fertility. This piece would have been hung at the entrance of the tribal tent to welcome the bride to her new home.
This piece would look exceptional hung above a doorway in a modern home.
